See ya Wade
« on: February 17, 2016, 09:10:22 AM »
The word going around on Wade Barrett's decision not to re-sign with WWE is a combination of injury issues and unhappiness with his never advancing beyond Intercontinental title level.

it is sad he was soo injury plagued as he has a good look, is like 6"6' and is ok on the mic..

He seemed to have a lot potential when he first arrived, but, for whatever reason, it never materialized. Like so many who never got to the tip top, there's that missing ingredient: he's not compelling. I never found myself interested in what he had  to say. It was the typical "I'm so great. You all suck," gimmick without adding anything new.

Very true but I think Sheamus is flat on the mic as well but could be considered a main eventer. I just think WWE got sick of trying to push him in fear of injuries.... King of the Ring...2 or 3 different monikers etc

Agreed 100% and proves what I have always said. They bring up a guy from NXT, build him up like no tomorrow, he fights the big fight and then is tossed into oblivion. Rusev is a perfect example of this.

I would put Owens in a separate category as his character has some depth and might be able to evolve.

Rusev is an old school evil foreigner character. Back in the day, he would've had a run with Bruno and moved on to another territory. Now, he has to do comedy.

Neville is a new school aerial artist, but has no character. So, once everyone has seen his moves a few times, his act gets old.

The point is that, in the current environment, a wrestler has to be able to change in order to stay relevant.

I somewhat agree, he Stone Cold esque from the "I dont give a f%^k" attitude. I just don't know if he will ever be the chosen one seeing that he looks like a beer drinking couch potato

That might explain the constant jobbing to New Day.

If anyone watched WM yesterday, Barrett looks to have lost a ton of weight, chest was flat....perhaps off the sauce..

His back was pretty detailed when I saw him in August.

Last night on RAW, New Day defended the tag titles against League of Nations (Sheamus and King Barrett)

Sheamus got mad about losing, after New Day's gloating, and declared League of Nations should be the most dominant faction in WWE. But, it had one weak link. Guess who that was.

Strangely enough, after that beatdown occurred, the Wyatts (again minus Luke Harper) appeared and pummeled the League of Booty, to the roar of the crowd and vanished.

Harper had knee surgery, he will be out for months.

Yup, another one on the shelf. When are Orton and Rollins back?

Not necessarily. Look at Reigns: Three WWE World titles, main-everted 'Mania two years in a row.

Reigns is over rated and force fed down everyones throat.

Reigns is over rated and force fed down everyones throat.

Reigns was fresh off being named 2014 Superstar of the Year. And this was with two months off due to that groin injury. It made all the sense in the world to put him against Lesnar by having him win the 2015 Royal Rumble.

This mess all started when Daniel Bryan came back. For some reason, they wanted Bryan to win the Rumble and beat Lesnar at 'Mania. How RIDICULOUS IS THAT?

How are you going to sell the little goat man, beating the BEAST that ended the Streak and beat Cena like a red-headed stepchild to win the world title?

Fans cheered when Reigns won the tournament for his first world championship at Survivor Series. And, ironically enough, the same Philly fans that booed him for winning the Rumble cheered him when he won the title back from Sheamus in the same building. There's even a segment after RAW when the Usos and Ambrose run to the ring to congratulate Reigns, with the Usos hoisting Reigns on their shoulders with belt held high to a cheering audience.

Even if you discount Reigns, what about Rollins? Look at the huge push he got, and the big payday......CASHING IN MITB at WRESTLEMANIA 31 to beat Lesnar and Reigns for the belt.

Had Rollins not blown his knee, I suspect he and Reigns would have headlined 'Mania 32.

There is No Quality Control, the WWE keeps saying Wins and Losses don't count...umm yes they do..

Quick logisitics...

Fandango beats Jericho (5x WWE champ) and Jericho beats AJ (Multi Fed Champ) so does this mean Fandango is better than them both?

With Kayfabe now gone, wins and losses on a show where "winners are determined before hand" mean absolutely nothing. Hogan won and lost the WCW title umpteen dozen times when he was NWO Hollywood but he was still the biggest draw and money maker by far.
