If one were to turn just Ghana into a farm one could feed the entire Africa with ease (the Ghanian population would benefit as well of course).
Freshwater? India is now using desalination plants that are able to produce drinking water, and this is just the beginning..The mistake you guys are making is in underestimating human ingenuity..
But ye, Europeans annihilated each other about 70 years ago and shortly after they started actively taking steps in eliminating their offspring via contraceptives and abortion, meanwhile the rest of the world is sitting pretty and having children without restraint (good for them). Not that long ago there wasn't such thing as 'over consumption' and eating a thick steak wasn't a problem.

That thick rib-eye steak will cost you around $20 a pound at Costco these days. Does this mean eating steak is a problem? Not unless you eat it in great quantity.
