She said her brakes failed. I bet she hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes. Easy enough to check the brakes.

A friend of mine and his wife were killed when a 90 year old guy hit the gas by mistake and drove into the diner they were eating in.

Don't sit by the window if a place doesn't have those barriers and people can park in front.
