Any of you guys use Fat Grips? They look like they can be useful, especially for arm day.

If you do decide to use them, just buy pool noodles and make your own.

I was literally looking into buying a pair of these this weekend. My old gym had them lying around and I never used them and now I cant train without thinking about them.

Speaking of noodles have you been training arms?

I have a pair of some no-name one's, they are pretty good for grip and forearm thickness.

Thick bar training is always great, try it for benching, BNP's and other basic moves, you'll gain some strength.

I’ve been sponsored by them for a couple of years. I have like 20 pairs. They work great.

Must be a gimmick of a DEM here, with not much of a build, who you piss off because of your outspoken politics and good physique.

I have  couple of the knockoffs too.

They are good but could stand to be made wider/longer as they are just about 4 inches which is barely wide enough.

They are all the same length no matter what brand.

5 inches would better as long as it would fit dumbbells.

They are really made for dumbbells which have thinner bars.

For a cheap fat-bar, you can buy the 2-inch black plumber piping at Home Depot.
I got a 7" piece, use it for bench and DL's on occasion. Seems to handle 405 OK, never put more on it than that, so not sure what its rated at.
(Rarely never go over 315 for fat-bar DL's).

Good for lighter fat bar training though.

For benching, I actually prefer a thicker bar, feels like I have a better grip.

Fat bar training (and weighted holds) always work the best in terms of grip training for me. Far better than any of the fancier specialty equipment. Stay in the 2" or 2 1/4" range, with the better being the 2". The sizes larger than that are only really good for grip training or strongman. They're fun, but for most, you'll wind up using too little load with them on traditional exercises.

The fat grips versions are really good, and seem to last a long time.

I have been using it for 5 months, can easily one arm deadhang for 30 seconds at 205 bw
Also curls feel very natural, normal bars feel so easy after getting use to it...
I bought pair for 5 bucks in a garage sale, 38 dollars is too steep...

Cool little tool.  I've used them. Definitely give them a go once in a while on arm day. Crazy forearm pumps.  They can only help.

I think they keep the length around 4" so that it can fit the handles of an EZ bar.
Aside from that, I'm with you on the other points.

Some trainers claim using a thick bar also reduces wrist strain/discomfort when pressing.

Pool noodles are a good diameter, but your fingers will "sink" into the material a bit with slightly heavier weight and/or as the foam breaks down over time with even lighter use. Of course, the cost makes replacement a non-issue.

Yes, this is true and why I bought my fat grips.  I have a finger injury and the thicker grip reduces the pressure on the joint.

That's some serious grip strength on those DLs, brother.  Well done!
