Expert Opinion..
« on: September 29, 2019, 04:33:49 AM »
From my expert opinion on fitness and bodybuilding, the best cardio equipment is the stair climber.

This piece of cardio equipment will definitely help you  burn the most calories and give you that ultra ripped physique you have been looking for.

BTW, today is shoulder day:

Dumbbell presses
Side raises
Machine presses

Shrugs

Wife and I just discussing this. I find it very taxing, so you are right SF. The fat guy on it near me the other day was at 1.5 hours, and 240+ flights of stairs.
After 10-mins I was done, had to go do 20 more on the treadmill. Will be slowly bumping up my time on this thing now that I'm a full-time heart patient!

Spot on, my dear boy. I made sure that the one in my gym is hooked up to a 'gay alarm'. If your hands touch the handles at any point, the alarm goes off. Hands must always be kept in either a boxing guard or holding an imaginary rifle. Even at my advanced old age I can still set it to max speed and run a mile on it with a medium-sized gym slut on my back.

Tex.

Thank you, Wes.

I am actually doing two pressing movements because I joined a new gym and want to try out 2 new pressing machines.  :) :) I never do two pressing movements in one work out for shoulders.

i think it was Ken waller who said you do not Need any shoulder Pressing at all.  He did a lot of heavy incline presses so no Need.

agreed, deltoids are not designed to press over the head, when in the past would anyone have to lift anything over their head in a pressing movement,
I only do dumbell laterals and cable laterals for delts, they get enough work during a normal chest workout

Those aren’t as bad. I just like doing side laterals. I pressed heavy (and upright rowed) a lot when younger and my shoulders snap crackle and pop all the time now.

Agreed.  The narrow grip can cause impingement.

I think it also applies to overhead pressing.  Too narrow grip can cause issues.

All these cardio machines have their place. I like old school fast walking, running and sprinting. No one ever said running was too easy. If it is then run faster.  The problem with some machines like the elliptical is people put the resistance so low they are delusional about how hard they are working. The calorie counter on these cardio machines are just about worthless to compare different cardio machines.

That machine looks exhausting, stairs are a tedious chore so much so that when I lived at with parents house and had no downstairs toilet I’d piss in the gully in the yard to save the tiresome task of climbing the stairs, a trick I learned from my dad

Most pressing movements are almost completely alike so pick your favorite and do 5 sets or so.

Most of what your hitting is front delt anyway which gets worked very hard during chest exercises.

Work to make yourself look wider with laterals and rear delt moves.

I like the treadmill on an incline for cardio. When it's done consistently regular walking feels like walking air.

That machine is brutal if not using arms to pull yourself up.I can walk very fast for hours and I always opt for stairs over elevator and my work has me moving constantly but that machine kills me after 10 minutes.

What about upright rows?

I hope they work for delts because they are part of my current routine.
