Have you read anything about the wall's flood gates? It is pretty interesting. Apparently, it is or was possible to drive a truck through them when open, which they are during the entire flood season. I think they lowered the lift height recently, but they are still opened pretty high. The design of the wall does not allow enough water to pass though quick enough to avoid serious flooding.

Another problem with the wall is that smugglers are sawing though it. It didn't take long for this to happen.

The wall hopefully discourages illegals immigrants and drug smuggling. But, the wall doesn't put and end to it as some people like to believe. Maybe we are not getting as much bang for the buck as we thought.
