These actors (Gosling and Cruise) just don't have the right frame or bone structure to carry much muscle. They're meant to be slim and keep low body fat levels. It's just the way they are genetically built.

Luckily, they were genetically gifted with the right look (face) that lends itself to what Hollywood wants/wanted.

Also, women don't care about muscles on a man as much as men care about muscles on other men. Although illogical, it is most often true. Doesn't mean that the men are gay for being fixated on the build other men have, but instead could possibly be the way we are hard wired. I have no evidence to back this, but sometimes I think that at a carnal level, men look at other men with muscles symbols of strength, leadership, manlihood and fertility. I can even see where subconsciously men with less muscles could look to other men with the right facial features, frame and muscles as a guide to more manliness. I think this much is true with children and youth (teenagers and even young adults in college).

Women care about muscular men about as much as men care about how skinny a woman is.

Well said and I agree.  When I was younger and much larger I would be on a worksite and speaking with the boss and when someone who didn't know better, man or woman, would approach they would more often than not address me as the supervisor due to my build.

That doesn't happen anymore but I think it's indicative of what you said, brother.  Men are men and we look to those we perceive as "alpha" as being just that.  In charge or with more common sense if you will.  I have found that older women prefer men that are built like a man should be.  One of my aunties told me that I should strive for the look of Steve Reeves or even Dave Draper and while I failed miserably at coming remotely close, I knew just what she meant as she along with an older cousin were correct.  Women, most often older women, who accept that there are differences between men and women and appreciate said differences much prefer a better built man.

Gosling is a fine actor and what women find attractive about him are his looks and his bank account. Those two factors coupled with his being "famous" ensure that he has something they want and could use.  The same is true of Tom Cruise. He is a good looking man with a slightly above average build but his facial looks and combination of fame and money are what makes women go "Duncan & Hines" over him.

There is something odd about the first photo. Here is another copy of it. Gosling is 6' tall.

The shadows on his lats in the original are making him look more pear shaped than he actually is.

Agreed. All of my female friends that are 40+ years of age do appreciate and respect men that look like men. They don't particularly care for these androgynous looking men that are now plastered all over magazine covers.

Not to mention that you're absolutely right in that money changes everything with regards to the level of overall attraction that's perceived from women. If you have two guys of the same age, with similar facial features and identical builds, regardless of personality, the guy with the most money/wealth always has an palpable advantage.

One More Rep, i think it's more tribal / ingrained genetically from ancient times.

When we wanted more stronger male members to protect our tribe from enemies and wild animals.

That is why imposing physiques, more muscle, wider shoulders are respected by men, and why weak men are discarded.

Wide shoulders, big muscles = More capable to defend the tribe which then evolved to Manliness.

And you are right that imposing physiques and muscles then became symbols of strength and leadership (even if the person in question was a sucky leader, you'd rather listen to him than a small, weak, thin jointed dweeb who came with suggestions).

Thread is gay as fuck, but regardless of his pussy hip/shoulder ratio, this dude could walk into your house and just say "let's go" to your gf/wife and she is walking out the door without even grabbing her belongings or saying bye to the kids.

Never listen to what a woman says, always watch what they do.If you listen to what they say youll always get the opposite impression of what they really like.

Any less than idea proportions are made irrelevant by his money/status.

If you pay attention women are not difficult to understand.  In fact they are quite predictable.

In a Life / Death-situation , i'd rather listen to advice from Hazbin than Chad Mower.

In a clean your Windows-situation, i'd listen to Chad Mower.
