from what i remember as a kid, his father (step?) worked as a car salemen and dabbled in a bit of real estate in texas but i don't think his family was wealthy.

Vanilla ice should at least lift. He's got the right amount of money and fame. If he was a lean 205 lbs he'd have it all. I remember seeing him on a flip this home type of show a few years back, not sure if it was his show though or if he was just featured on that episode.
