Vegas is the best place to have any event.

Yes, except that with the uncertaincy in the Democratic run areas, and this virus having varients, why even take the chance.  While other cities are limiting and blocking events, others are courting people to come and spend money and generate taxes in their state and city.  Case in point, Disney's parks have been open for months in Florida, while Newsom block people from working here in California. And while close to 35% are Republicans, the majority won't dare go against Newsom or Pelosi, etc.

$1k cash if you bust him in the face on camera. ;D
I'll even throw in a large order of Orange Chicken from any restaurant you want.

I am an equal access photographer at these events, unless you don't want me taking a pic.  Trust me, I have more than enough people, various booths, officials, celebrities and vendors to take pics of.  When I am contracted or on assignment, then you need to take at least 1 pic of a compiter, but rarely have I heard don't take it.  If someone is that 'stuck up', I really don't want to give them any publicity anyway.

Quick funny, though, in the last few years, i have received more complaints as to why I did not take their picture, or 'ignored' them.  It isnt intentional either, you just have limited time to get pics in various areas before you move on.

The Olympia is an awesome event, one of my favorites, because not only do you get to meet various competitors, you get to see vendors, and old friends from all around the globe.

Vegas has been open for awhile now.  Las Vegas is in Nevada not California.

Can't please everyone, Ron. I just wonder how big the event could possibly be with so many people scared of the Rona?

They should have the Olympia in Dubai, India.  Getbiggers would be the only fans in attendance.

Just saw this. What a jealous ass. And miserable one too. For starters, I kinda wish a had a mullet frizzball hair style now, would be nice.  Second, I wasnt at the Collegiate Nationals. Second, if you even asked not to take a pic of you, not only would I not, but make sure you would of not received any publicity from me. Third, I will be in Florida, a few more times before the Olympia, having fun, but you can watch and complain. But since you are the one in the corner jealous of all, don't worry. For the hundreds that thanked me for taking pics, in over 600+ contests and events that I have shot, in lots of magazines, all good. For the few that don't care, that is great too. But don't be jealous, it seethes out of your sarcastic tongue of patheticness.

See you in Florida.

leeches

gonna leech

without the hard work  physically and mentally as well as the  financial investments of the individual  competitors

no one needs your "exposure" or "publicity" sir

thats long passed

who would you  sell  or "expose "your photographs too sir without the competitors??

I would normally say "Meltdown" to a post like this. Coming from the "Ronfather" however, it's clear that it was a response to a malicious attempt at a troll job.

No one meaning you. That is fine.  Just stay away from any camera and all will be good. Hide in the corner.  Let the people who want their pictures taken be in front.   We will be having a great time covering the events, as we always do.   And will take lots of pictures at various events.  Yep, in your thinking, the days of people like Phil Heath getting their pictures taken, posted on Getbig, and being talked about, which led him to a contract with Flex Magazine, are long gone.  Nowadays, some competitors have their own social photographer and videographer, aka Instagram influencers, which (gasp) make a lot of money via 'publicity'.  All good.

Correct. Not for you.  Your time has passed.  That is ok.  Your hobby and competing has passed. Understood.  Others have come.  My hobby of photographer will still be there, which I enjoy.  Meeting people at events, competitors are work hard to get to where they want to be, the success, the anguish, the frustration.  The satisfaction.  Pictures and video cover that.

As for Orange Chicken, yep, still gotta love that!   Done with complainers and Male-Karens.

Will see you at some events this year... or maybe not...

HUMBLE, You said someplace above that "Vegas is wide open" but I gotta say the following ....

It ain't wide open yet but it seems to be the start of 'opening wide'!

Friends of ours work in a number of Strip casinos ... One at Oyo (formerly Hooter's) and a few others cat MGM properties ... and everyone says that they are seeing improvement.

But at present the major shows and restaurants are still dark but some expect to be open by the start of summer.

We still 'fine dine' at Ellis Island but the entire casino appears to be less than 30% full except on weekends when the California 'crowd' comes to town which then fills Ellis Island to roughly 50% capacity.

When and if this Corona shit settles down I think it will take another full year to get this town back to normal ... but with a lot of changes never expected.

Most of the casinos are open and have been for a long time.  People might not be going there because of the 'rona but they are open.
