You hit the nail on the head here regarding the events I'm aware of. Does the media report on any of these white people that are either disobeying cops or being beaten by cops? The media and dems exploit blacks. Hope you realize that.
You are saying this because you don't like the outcome of the "exploitation" and presumably don't even like the fact that it's discussed. Earl posted a link to a white guy killed by the police as proof of it not fitting the media's ~narrative~, but if you google the guy's name, Tony Timpa, you see on the first page of results that it was covered by national outlets like NYTimes, USA Today, CNN. More importantly, you look into the story, you see all these examples of blatant corruption and incompetence in the case, but Earl seemed to post it as proof that people don't think that exists if the person killed wasn't black, which is not true. There is a multi-years-long police-state thread on this board that was nearly 200 pages last time I checked. But it seems some people's logic is "racism doesn't exist=therefore, police automatically right." You can easily not even consider race and still see this was a fucked up situation.
Hell, it's considered racist to expect a black person to have a photo ID so I guess anything's possible these days.
No, that georgia bill is about more than getting photo ids. It's about limiting voting hours, limiting voting locations, limiting access to those locations, making it harder to vote in a way that is going to impact minorities and lower-income voters more.
Once again, because it's not something that you've had direct experience with, it couldn't possibly be a real problem and you think it's ridiculous that anyone who has gone through it would consider it a problem. Not too long ago, prob within the last 3 months, I posted about my volunteer work with housing instability programs, and one of the programs I worked on was specifically getting our clients ids. It can be a time consuming and relatively expensive process, especially since the federal guidelines were tightened up following 9/11. And there are a lot of lower income folks who are able to get by without an id, and the longer you go without one, the harder it is to acquire.
