Good for him, horrible way to go out for good. Better to retire having come back strong than bottomed out like that even if it shortens his life a year or two. Quality vs quantity.
Perhaps. But what does JF have to prove?
He was 9x Canada's Strongest Man, and would have been 11x in a row if not for the fake pandemic.
Also, I'm not certain that JF is only shortening his life by year or two. If he just shrank down and lived a healthy lifestyle now, he could possibly regain some of the lifespan he most. Our bodies' ability to recover is pretty high at under 45.
But now he will now be taxing his central nervous system at a time that he should be seeking to protect it.
I think being 300-lb for too long is why Nasser El Sonbaty died at 47.
And as I said - what does JF have to prove at this point?
He could stay retired, slim down, and live to age 70+, following Bill Kazmaier's model. Or...die by 50, potentially?
JF is 348-lb. Even at 6'3.5", that does not bode well for longevity. I just want JF to run his gym, train people, and enjoy his retirement. He's earned it.
