Sometimes I revert back to my days in the hood (Inglewood, Ca.) running with my crew and my main nikka, Coke Evans (RIP), flexing hard against the man always trying to keep an Octoroon down.
Pellius has that Christopher Walken vibe going on, haha.
Many people struggle with perspective.Life is on different terms for people all across the planet. What is normal to me is not normal to 99.99% of the planet.Yes it is good to step back and look at the big picture.Forget your expensive things and cherish the simple things in life.Stop working your life away and be happy every single day.As the Dalia Lama said many years ago when asked "what is the key to life", he relied "to be happy".People (especially Americans) should be more grateful for what they have. But we aren't, we are the spoiled brats of the Earth.I changed my entire life 3 years ago and moved to the mountains.I'm the happiest person you would ever meet.Always positive. Never negative.Every single day is like vacation to me.
I don't think a person can ever be happy without gratitude. Simply being thankful for what you have. Of course, we always want more and there's nothing wrong with that. It's one of the impetus for achievement. But human wants are like a Black Hole. It never ends. The more you have the more you want. So that's why it's important to appreciate the things we often take for granted. For me, it's just being able to live in such a great country and in such a beautiful state. Compared to how so many have it in other parts of the world where they truly suffer, living here is like winning one of life's lotteries. A gift given to me that I did nothing to earn or deserve.
