Any Getbiggers A Member Of A Fraternal Organization? Which one?

Around my area it's the Moose Lodge, Eagles and Elk Lodge.

Anyone have any experience in these types of organizations?

I was in the Rotary for a few years back in the 90s.

My stepdad was the exalted ruler(president)of the elks for years, all I can say if you are a heavy drinker it seems like a place to be. He was a hard worker and had a very successful locksmith company for 35 years and would work 12 hours a day then go straight to the lodge and drink for a few hours, eat something, play Keno, scratch tickets etc… then come home. They had a lot of things they did for the community to raise money. Definitley a close group of guys. I went a few times with him and it seemed pretty boring,definitely a cheers type place. It seems like a lifestyle.

I've been in the Rotary and Chamber of Commerce type of organizations but I'm in a rural location now and looking to network a bit.

Out of the three choices one seems to be very active and the others are like an old VFW with very little in the way of updates or internet presence.

Most of the people I've known that were in these clubs were solid working people.

I’m a member of a local one. We do fund raising and toy drives. A lot of boozing and shit like that, but it’s a good networking tool as well. Not that it’s all for that, I do enjoy the service work.
