The person who really got fucked over was Dan Duchaine. He dedicated his life to providing true, accurate information about performance enhancing drugs for bodybuilders. He first got fucked by two different governments, both Mexico and the U.S. given that Hank Rhon, mayor of Tijuana, cartel member and owner of the Caliente dog/horse racing track and betting/fixing enterprise took over steroids with the cartels and later on brought the whole vet scene(QV, Denkall, Animal Power, etc) along with Juan Macklis. Mayor Rhon was the real owner of "Laboratories Milano" in the late 80s and early 90s. Duchaine was at the end of the chain and just wanted to make real, quality gear(those little blue 5mg dbols are still the best there ever was) but ends up popped for the cartels to take over steroids, then Phillips uses Duchaine to make MM2000 the "hardcore" magazine, with "Ask the Guru" and steroid profiles, etc., gains the hardcore community trust and pulls a bait and switch, essentially getting rid of Duchaine, all steroid info and pulling the Met-RX/EAS scam where Dr. Scott Connelly LIES about being a Harvard doctor, LIES about doing studies on burn patients with Metamyosin, and LIES about having no relationship with Bill Phillips. The whole thing started when the cartels realized there was real money to be made with steroids, so took it over and a bunch of dealers had a lot of money to launder and basically had to get the fuck out of Mexico or deal with the cartels/government which were the same thing in Tijuana. And Connelly and Phillips became multi millionaires frankly largely in part to the legitimacy of Duchaine, who was then cut out of the supplement scam once he was no longer useful. Phillips and Connelly walk away multi millionaires and Duchaine was left a broken man, a sacrificial lamb for everyone that went "legit".
