excess salt isn't good for the heart, which is a good reason to limit it's use. it causes water retention and a myriad of other health issues.

Processed foods are generally loaded with sodium.

However, salt is required for human health, but not in the excess amounts of processed foods.

Hey Joon,

There exists an inverse relationship between sodium and calcium. The more sodium (salt) you take in, the higher the amount of calcium that's pushed out. This is due to a magical place in your kidneys known as the distal convoluted tubule. Furthermore, hypercalciuria (pissing out calcium) - which can happen when you have high levels of sodium/salt in your blood is linked to low bone mass.

So, in short:

Exceptionally high salt consumption can lead to hypernatremia (high sodium levels in blood)

That ⬆️ leads to more calcium being pushed out through your kidneys via your urine, which in turn has been linked to low bone mass.

Fuck you Joon.

Must’ve been from all of that bending and twisting from playing golf as well as constant sitting while watching golf. Or maybe Rory has something to do with this  ???
