You know I'm anti as hell but I don't connect the dots that way. I can see why you would with all the unpleasantness. There's just no proof imo of anything beyond a goldrush and a really shitty system imo.

You're suggesting an enterprise that would need way more tight lipped loyalists than it could possibly hope to wrangle. There would be whistles blowing day and night.

Governments absolutely exploit crises to consolidate power. Pharmaceutical companies fudge data when there's multiple billions to be made. Regulatory capture, publication bias, politicization. It's all happened before. It doesn't add up to a program of intentional mass extermination.

Besides, I don't really need there to be a super sinister plot to justify my noncompliance. It seems like a really crappy product and I'm not going to take it. All the punitive social engineering they can muster doesn't provide any relevant medical information.

If you'll forgive me saying so, I think my assessment is more on target, even if it's more pessimistic. You're positing that there are evil geniuses running an extraordinarily tight ship and getting away with something that's damn near impossible. Spot on and the incompetence isn’t isolated to gov it takes place in most corporations as well. Often the company’s are so big that the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing and you have people in the chain of command who pretend to “know” only to wind up costing the company millions with the incorrect decisions being made daily.

Anyway, not sure how much longer the excess death can get swept under the rug. Maybe forever. The silence is pretty amazing.

When the authorities are clearly outright liars it's no surprise some people are going to attribute the most sinister motives imaginable to them. Those who don't go quite that far are still feeling betrayed. There's wide resentment here among people who had to take 3 to keep their job, which is pretty much everyone. Groups I’m still seeing wearing Masks:

1. Neurotic Karens - Makes no sense as the overwhelming majority aren’t even in the supposedly high risk groups. They’re just worthless cowards.

2. Beta Males - Pretty much the male version of 1. I’ve seen guys (and women) with tattoos wearing masks outdoors. Where’s the tough guy?

3. Asians, mainly in Chinatown. Makes some sense not because of Covid but the CCP’s actions. These people have family over there and are afraid there might be party apparatchiks here.

4. Shady Ghetto Types - Ironically, this makes the most sense as these people are trying to conceal their identities.
