Haha same, I remember Rhoden winning it and then Ramy won it once or twice.  these guys look like they’d be competing to qualify for the O, not top contender.

Even the guys that never placed well, Melvin, Freeman, Cedric, etc  they all retained name recognition over the years.  When I read about Nick or Hunter or any of these others I have to Google them to see who we are talking about.

Honest to god I don’t even know who is in it.  This new generation is so lackluster that nobody even bothers to follow them anymore.  I can’t remember who won it last year.  I know after heath that flexatron won it. Then Brandon and rami.  Maybe not in that order.  That’s all I recall from these uninspiring guys now.

I agree man. I’ve tried to get interested, but it’s just like the old days. I fckn hate being “that” old man, but I feel super lucky to have been around in the 90’s and 2000’s (in the 80’s I followed as much as the mags allowed, but started training and eventually competing in the 90’s)
I may be totally wrong, but it just doesn’t seem to have the quality and variety of competition today.

A lot of guys could win it depends who nails their condition it's not an exact science guys can look great the day before or after but off that day. There really should be 2 height classes then it would be Hadi, Lunsford, Walker in the short class battling it out and Samson, Krizo, Andrew top 3 in the tall class Brandon Curry has the ability to show up somewhere top 3 or 4 in either as he would be right around the cutoff.
