I binge-watched a lot of those US Police vs 'sov-cit' / FAFO videos recently - there's a really wide spread of how much back-chat and abuse some officers will endure before escalating - this was nice and to the point - I absolutely love it when someone deservedly goes down like a sack of shit

Tangent:  I'm sure the technology has moved on, but many years ago I was 'friends' with a sort of arms dealer fellow and he had a box of those old fashioned tasers that you had to actually touch against someone - not the modern gun sort - more like a torch with two nails at the end.  Sold a load up North apparently.  Anyway, one of the bigger lads at the gym reckoned he could take it... didn't go well... said it was the most painful thing he'd ever felt

They cause muscular contraction. Its totally involuntary. Imagine flexing your muscles as hard as possible.

So, the gun tazers shoot little darts, and theres a small thin wire from the gun to the dart. It shoots two darts and then once in your body the darts send an electric arc to one another.  So the further away the darts are, the greater effect.

If one dart goes into your left shoulder and the other goes into your left bicep, it will hurt but probably wont seize you up and drop you on the ground. But if one dart goes into your right calf, and the other goes into your left pec.... you're going to drop, stiff as a board and its going to hurt like hell.

They were going to try that in the 70's.  There was a company tooled up to make the guns from retro-fitted air / paintball guns, and the whole bit. At the last minute, they decided they didn't want cops trying to figure dosages, etc.... Then they moved to bean bag guns, and that whole bit.
