If Jesus is God why would he plead with God to let the cup pass him by

Are you personally sold on the trinity being the right interpretation of the bible? (Regardless of being religious or not)  it seems convoluted and messed up.

Belief has nothing to do with my question, as I mentioned explicitly. From an intellectual point of view, trinitarianism does not seem to hold up to any degree of scrutiny. Trinitarianism is a 4th century dogma.
