MMA weight training routines
« on: July 31, 2006, 03:50:22 PM »
I need a new lifting routine, as I am so burnt out I am completely useless in the gym. Are there any known weight lifting routines that benefit people who do MMA? If so, if you could list them I'd appreciate it.

depends what you wanna do if you wanna be biggerfor another weight class or lose weight or whatever

tito for example goes to the gym towork on his endurance so he can last 5 rounds so he works with a higher tempo and higher reps

there's quite a few videos on that kinda stuff

I want to maintain my current weight and get a little more muscle endurance.

I understand there may be a video but is there an internet link with an actual weight routine? Sets/reps/exercises?

decent weight with higher reps! each set to failure!

now i don't do that but on occassion..but when i'm throwing hands i do it with weights or with wrist weights to build up my shoulders...and at the end of hte day i can't throw a punch for shit..

but if you take them off...my hands are weightless.

I still think it's weird that there are no links to an actual laid-out routine...

there's really no set way to do it...

hell just yesterday i was told that weight training would hurt my mma training....

I just laughed and asked him how to explain how resistance training would have any ill effect on my boxing and mma....and NOT to my surprise he just kinda shrugged, told me he hasn't ever heard of it but has been in boxing for 22 years, and says it just doesn't have a place in those sports.
