pound for pound how does franco compare with todays powerlifters?

I have a book he wrote, Winning Bodybuilding. Published in 1978 when Franco was 37. He said his best bench was 485. On his web site he is now claiming 520 pounds.

Remember he made a return to competition after '78.  He might have benched 520lbs. after writing winnining bodybuilding.

I doubt it. He was a competitive powerlifter at one time. I doubt his best lifts were when he was only bodybuilding. Plus after he hurt himself in 1977 he was out of action for a long time. I doubt his best lifts were as a 40 year old.

i would believe that Franco benched 475-480 but not 520, 475-480 is damn good for 195-200 bodyweight.
