“Last year over 12,000 fans attended the fastest growing bodybuilding and fitness show in the country,” said promoter Ed Pariso, husband of IFBB pro bodybuilder Betty Pariso. “With Bodybuilding.com as our partner, we expect bigger crowds to sample more products and enjoy even more in 2007!” Events added to the 2007 Southwest Supplement Expo will be submission wrestling, martial arts, arm wrestling, strongman, power lifting, a model search and a Fit Mom and Dad contest. “With over 250 vendors expected, the Expo is the best opportunity for people in Texas to sample the latest muscle building or weight loss products and learn how supplements can enhance their training and nutrition regimen,” stated Pariso.
The Pariso’s are known for their cutting edge, entertaining shows that draw the sports best athletes including the best women bodybuilders. New this year is the first ever IFBB sanctioned Men’s under 210lb Best in the West Class. The growth in attendance, event and vendors facilitated a new home in 2007 - moving from Arlington, Texas, to the Dallas Convention Center. The 2006 Europa Super Show champion Toney Freeman narrowly defeated Quincy Taylor and is expected to defend his title.
Bodybuilding.com will provide a FREE web cast of Friday and Saturday night’s events. The 2007 web cast will be emceed by Ironman Magazine’s Lonnie Teper, Pro Bodybuilding Weekly’s Dan Soloman and Bodybuilding.com’s Bob Cicherillo.
“We wanted to partner with someone who could help us grow,” Pariso said. “As the world’s largest bodybuilding and fitness website, Bodybuilding.com can help us attract the vendors we need to support the show’s growth. The web cast creates an added excitement for the event, the athletes and the fans, which translates into more exposure for the sponsors and vendors. Last year we set attendance records for the show plus our sponsors were seen by more than 6,000 live viewers and an additional 30,000 on-demand viewers at Bodybuilding.com during the week following the show.”
