i am not aware of this particular situation, but ideally (in democratic countries) police will only use sufficient force to overcome the particular threat at the time. any further force is considered excessive and thus liable eg. if you shoot someone once and they no longer pose a threat to anyone then you don't shoot him again for good measure or whatever

having said that, cops, like everyone else, are only human and they have a very dangerous job where they risk their life and health on a daily basis. especially at times of extreme stress none of us have COMPLETE control of our actions all of the time. it's called 'fight or flight syndrome'.

that is why police are trained regularly in their use of lethal force so their actions become largely automatic and controlled as opposed to panic.

very difficult job. they are given a huge responsibility that joe public will never truly understand which is why they are often unappreciated.

i am of the belief that if you make an action intending to hurt or kill one of societies protectors ie police, then you deserve everything you get.

there are always consequences to our actions, eg if you walk out in front of a truck you get run over/try to run over a police officer you get shot dead.

yeah, i agree, but you can't blame the cops for that. it's the laws created by your elected government that allow for these things to happen.

the hardest thing cops deal with is lawsuits. nobody wants to use their gun or force for anything, but when you do you can be sure you'll be seeing a lawyer. if your white and you catch a black guy doing something illegal, your automatically a racist.

Plus, many of the PDs use polygraphs, interview neighbors, and scan that background pretty well.  I doubt he'd get thru checks.

Of course, the biggest pwning of all would be to LET him get thru all that, then pass on the info once he has a whole squd of cops he'll be working with for 20 years, and let him be the laughing stock of the dept.

IMO, he doesn't have the mental capacity to be a copy, anyway.  Dude looks inbred, he speaks like he's reading from a teleprompter, and his insecurity will inevitably get him in a gunfight on the job rather quickly.  And if his trigger is as slow as his wit, he'll be a nice backstop for streetwise bullets with no hesitation.
