so true and well put. so many MMA guys think they're stuff and they may very well be if they were fighting in a ring. but street fighting is different. if im in danger i wont hesitate to go for the eyes or the throat. dont care how tough you are if i jam my finger through your eye most likely youre done. and most fights invlove more than one person. if my friend is getting worked im not going to stand on the side and give him tips, im grabbing a chair or whatever solid object i can find and smashing it on the guys head.
Ah, the TMA "my stuff is so lethal it is only used in the street" analogy. If you can effectively deliver an inside kick, couldn't you bring it up slightly and hit the groin. If you can deliver a jab, cross effectively, couldn't you extend your fingers and hit the eyes. The TMA artist does not practice realistically against an aggressive, skilled opponent
WHO RESISTS. If you can clinch effectively, you can eye gouge, headbutt, knee, elbow. Be realistic and train that way hard! And to answer the original question, no system has all the answers, train all ranges, as well as weapons, and ballistic weapons. Being athletic helps lots!
