Maybe the question should be why would anyone want to bodybuild without gear? Isn't it more dangerous to your body to lift huge weights day in and day out without the medical benefits of gear. WHy risk joint damage permanent tendinitous, nerve damage, and crushed disks and future arthritis. Maybe gear will prevent all those things for you. Discuss
no offense man, i like you but that's the weakest thing i've ever heard.

maybe if you lifted correctly and dont be sloppy with movements and poundages, then all those bad things wouldnt happen. hahah your just mad that you dont respond well to AAS.

well, whadda ya mean by "huge weights?"  most lifetime naturals that i see (even the ones with good physiques) don't move crazy numbers.

Even the guys that take drugs to try to make a LIVING are dumbasses, IMO.

Why in the hell would you CHOOSE a vocation which REQUIRES you to BREAK THE LAW to be successful at it?  You might as well be a mob hit-man or a damn bank-robber.  It pays a hell of a lot better.

Guys that try to make a living off of bodybuilding (or that even do local shows) are in it for EGO.  PERIOD.  Some lying scleps will throw "gloryfying God" out there like Gay for Pay Dugdale when they know it's all a HUGE LIE.  It's ALL to boost their own ego and satisfy their huge craving for exposure.  These guys that ride the "God" reason for competing/bodybuilding crack me up.

Newsflash:  It's all about YOU!  I don't see guys like Dugdale out telling people to live the lifestyle he does.  You know why?  Because he would have to say, "Well, do as I say, not as I do...".  What a crock of shit.  Dugdale has top-level amatuer disciples of his who play the "God-card" as well when talking about why they compete.  Yeah, I'm sure Jesus injected 1,000 mg. of test right before he distributed fish and bread in the Bible.  In fact, I bet Jesus just LOVES the thought of making up for genetic deficiencies by using drugs for purposes of VANITY.

It's all about YOU, God-Card flashers.  Don't continue to live the lie...and don't continue to allow your girl (s) to use drugs, BTW.  Looking like you're 35 when you're in your early 20's is a problem for women....

Oppps...another intelligent, informed, well-written, post!   We can't have that on these boards, mods.!!

Look out there EgoCrusher, don't try not to sound too well-informed/intelligent/logical, or passionate, on a subject...or, the moron-majority on these boards will accuse you of having a "meltdown"...duhhh, ugh, grunt, snort, fart...yuk, yuk, yuk!!!

You get so much stronger so much faster when on a lot of gear that it is harder on your joints and tendons,in my opinion.

I could see if someone really enjoyed BBing and liked to compete as a hobby and needed gear to compete on a local stage or if someone had to get in top condition for a paid shoot, but why do local gym idiots with 15%+ Bodyfat and average muscle take AAS? WHat are they trying to acomplish? DO they think they will gain 'Alpha Male " status with an additional 20 lbs of watery muscle? DO they think a 350lb benchpress will have every stripper in town trying to hook up with them? I talked to a guy a few years ago at my gym who was setting up this 15 week cycle with 5 diff compounds in it. I asked him what show he was getting ready for and he said he didnt compete, I then asked him if he must be getting ready for a paid photo shoot .. " No" he replied.

Dont you have to go outside and attempt to tell neighborhood kids about your lifts from the 50's and show them "recent" pictures taken in 1971

I don't know but my motto is if you aint cheating you aint trying. I worked out naturally from ages 16-22 and i'm currently 24 I've been taking aas for about two years with proper cycles and pct. I do not compete and really don't plan to at this moment. In two years i saw pretty good gains but, not only did I gain size but I got reallly defined. Now to answer your question Over the counter supplements excluding protein and creatine really don't work as good and are over priced. I can get twice the results from a $60 bottle of test than an $85 bottle of 1ad or maxtest etc. so the answer is I get more bang for the buck bottomline.

You guys that use are in COMPLETE denial about this subject.

I'm not sure if you all realize it, but you sound like morphine or heroine addicts trying to justify their addictions, and you do have an addiction.

Count, I guess every since at least 776 BC, the approximate start of the ancient Greek Olympic games, ATHLETES have been trying to use every means possible to gain an edge over their competitors...fair of unfair!!   No, its not "morally/ethically right" to "cheat to win"...but, at least, you can understand the "logic" behind the athletes reasoning (i.e. if I think that the competitor next to me is taking BB drugs to try to gain an edge over me in physique/lifting competition, then I better be taking them too, to be playing on a level playing field).

But the insanity is, IMO, if you are an "average joe" just doing rec. BB to stay in shape and improve your appearance, etc., we all know that you can build a far above average physique over time, NATURALLY.  Why risk your PRECIOUS health and potential longevity taking BB drugs (w/o medical supervision...and who in the hell does it with "medical supervision"!??) for just adding a few extra inches in muscle size in a shorter period of time!??

I mean, I would rather have my 17.5 - 18.5 in. arms, built naturally, and live a long, healthy, life like say Jack Lalanne (into my 90's) and weigh 190-200 lbs., rather than use BB drugs, bloat up to 260-280 lbs., build 23-in. arms, and run the very real risk of associated poor health and being dead at 45-55 yrs. of age!

Die at 45-55 years old?  Are you aware that no Mr. Olympia winner, all of whom have juiced, are dead?  Look it up, even Larry Scott is still alive!

Well, we REALLY don't know what has happened in regard to the actual health of former Mr. Olympia competitors, because it is one of the most closely guarded/hidden secrets in all of BB!!  But, we do know that several pro. card-carrying IFBB BBers have died, before their apparent time, or have had horrendous health problems...like open heart surgeries!   I mean, what little TRUTH that "leaks out" on the subject is overwhelmingly NEGATIVE!

As a matter of fact, one of our most informed, intelligent, Getbig members/posters "Disgusted" posted a long "laundry list" of top-level pro. BBers, a while back, who were either deceased, or had MAJOR health problems; very apparently due  to the long-term monstrous stacks of BB drugs they injest/inject.

Disgusted, sure would love to see that "laundry list" posted again!?

Of course, we could all just re-read that excellent Iron Man article, titled "The State of Pro Competitive Bobybuilding" on the "wonderful benefits" of BB drug stacks...

I find it amazing how much naturals (esp. these so called lifetime naturals) care about other lifters steroid usage.. I'm also shocked that croatch hasn't had a major meltdown in this thread yet as he's usually the one advocating natural training and slamming those of us that chose to enhance our bodies and take them to the next level.

I would agree with that.  You never here someone who made a decision to juice, speak down upon somebody that is natural. Either way should make no difference to anybody.  Unless you compete as a natural and juice, other than that who cares?

all you need to do is go to these bodybuilding shows and you'll see lots of meatheads in the Audience who look like they're competing. I'm surprise sometime to see tons of these MuscleHedz at the Expos, we're talking about guys who never set foot on a stage.

My God, you mean we actually have people with intelligence, reason, logic, and common sense, posting on Getbig!???

Mods, we can't have that...ban this poster immediately!!!

Why??!!!  Because THESE STRICTLY RECREATIONAL BBers are INSECURE, WANT "INSTANT GRATIFICATION", are LAZY, and are NOT PLAYING WITH A FULL DECK!!!

Richard, Im not sure if you support my stance or not?

Please clarify if you think guys who do NOT compete should take gear...( medical or HRT issues aside)
