Craig was good in Casino Royale, ...but to me it wasn't a Bond film.
It was a good film, ...but not what I've come to expect from the Bond franchise.
It was too loose a plot, that wasn't tied up very well imo, and was far too brutal for my liking.
The torture and threats of torture were far too excessive imo. They'll have to do better next time.
ps - ...although I did like that wet shirt in the shower. That was very nice.
I still would have preferred Gerard Butler in the role though.
He would have made a good morph of the Moore Bond, the Brosnan Bond, and the Connery Bond
Ah Jags... you're missing the point... The point was to completely reboot the bond franchise and make it more modern, that's exactly what they did.
The point was to get away from the Connery, Brosnan, Moore, Dalton Bond and make him anew.
This is bond for now.
Oh, and Bond kicks Bourne's ass.
Bond's in order of greatest to worst...
Connery, Brosnan, Dalton (In The living Daylights), Craig, Moore.
I do not count "License to Kill" at all as a Bond movie... It was horrible and Dalton just couldn't do anything to fix it. Bad plot, bad script, bad everything.
