whatever... dont listen to these fools....when we had 5 plates on the deadlift the people around us stopped to see the attempt...its a feat...

Big mal...maybe you are just getting bad advice about how to train or diet. For example, if you want to squat and deadlift 500 pounds...you actually have to do the lifts AND you cannot go to the gym 7 times a week and do cardio for an hour so that you have abs for the beach. You do not squat and deadlift 500 pounds by accident...you have to actually try to accomplish it. Hope this helps.

Morbidly obese? Dude you have just shown everyone here how little you know about lifting weights / body building. This does not even need a reply.

I hate to break this to some of you guys who are on Squad's case...being ripped does not make you stronger. I am sure I will hear the same crap now, but I do not look much different than him...I am 5'6 215-220 pounds...not ripped just big...or fat as some of you are saying. I have deadlifted 615 for a double with no belt, conventional style, 100% natrual. I can slo bench around 365 and squat mid 500's. His claims are not far fecthed at all at his size. In fact, I have some really small guys do some crazy lifts. I saw a guest lifter at a power lifting meet at 165 squat 600 for five good reps. He was sauced but who gives a shit...that is raw power, and he looked like he was just an avergae dude walking down the street. So to summarize...a guy at Squads size can surely squat 405 for reps...not 40 but reps. Also, having some fat does not make you weak and being ripped does not make you stronger. Thank you, drive through.

Good to have you on this board mate. Fcuking good squats.

I'm a fat piece of shit and can do it easily. What's your statement got to do with how strong someone is? 405 for 10-12 doesn't make you a god. Sounds like a brutal case of internet jealousy to me. If some of you people take a look at people who train for strength, you'd be surprised at teh body types you'll find. I've got a kid I'm working with ATM that deads 600 (suited ofcourse), 19 years old, and is only 185lbs. There was a LEGIT vid posted yesterday I believe with a kid, only 20, hitting 405 on the bench for 10.
Shut up!

Man to be hoenst, I do not know if a human quad muscle could possibly hold the lactic acid that would build up during this. I am constantly surprised by what the human body is capable of though, so I would never sya it was impossible...improbable, yes, impossible, no...a wrestler who needs to be training for other things...complete and utter BS.

exactly, watching Platz do 23 with 495 i think that MAYBE Tom at his peak could have gotten 35 or so with it.

There is other good examples out there...look at the NFL combine. The record for benching 225 is like 40...42 I think...but the guy wieghed like 350 pounds who did it. At that ratio the guy who could squat 405 for 40 would have to weigh like 600 lbs. =P

matter of f act i was just watching the NFL combine the other day on the NFL Network and a big mexican looking lineman did 40 reps with 225 and a couple of years ago there was an OG from BYU who did 44 at around 300 bodyweight.

The sad thing was it wasn't in an ad, it was an interview, which I take as a bit more credible.

Here's what his workout would look like

Squat

135 X 20 reps
225 X 20 reps
315 X 40 reps
405 X 40 reps
315 X 40 reps

RIDICULOUS!!!

For perspecitve, here's Steve Kuclo doing 405lbs for 20 reps:

Yep with good form like that 20 reps with 405 is hard big time!

"...I'd warm up with 135 pounds, then add another wheel to make it 225 pounds, and then get 40 reps each with 315, 405 and then 315 again."

and thats the bottom line, cause stone cold said so
