Years of abusing his body until his kidneys packed up. It's an all too familiar tale.

To an extent. Its certainly not as though he just quit bodybuilding and shrunk to half his size. Guy had serious health problems most bb'ers dont have go through.
No doubt about it...

The health problems caused him to quit bodybuilding and shrink to half his size.

I realise that. I'm saying that if he didn't have the health problems he suffered and still quit bodybuilding (and gear) he'd be much bigger than he is now. Its not as if he just retired and shrunk.

Well when you have kidney failure and go on dialysis, your bound to lose size. Like i said, he went through things most bb'ers don't.

Kidney failure caused by the huge amounts of drugs he took to reach an unnatural size that his frame and organs couldn't cope with. The drugs built him up and then the drugs knocked him down.

It was all drugs :D

Actually the culprit (not entirely the cause though obviously) was Advill (painkillers). He took heaps each day to help his sore joints. Kind of ironic to think that all the shit he took, it was the over the counter, available to anyone drugs that did the damage.

I don't think it was just the Advill - although I take your point about the dangerous amounts of painkillers they take and the extra burden this places on the body. I think the damage was done by a combination of the cocktail of drugs he took. However, when one of these major league drug users gets a 'complication' then there is always an attempt to deny the root cause was the banned drugs - congenital defect is another favorite.

True.
Yeah there was obviously many factors that lead to his problems (gear, advill and don't forget very high amounts of protein). Regardless of if he was an arsehole or not, i feel sorry for the guy. Looked like an absolute monster when he was competing. Must be hard to imagine what he thinks when he looks in the mirror and literally sees half the man staring back at him. Still, i guess he's just happy to be alive. He did almost die for us bitches.
No doubt about it...

I guess my heart is hard because he knew the risks and he really comes across badly in cyberland. His attitude and posts on forums really sucked..imo.

Yep it sucked but he's paid a big enough price now.  Look at that pic.  Nothing more needs to be said.  It says it all.  Even his posture says "I am no longer a bodybuilder".
