I just read the latest news in the GET BIG headlines and skimmed the various drug busts articles.
On a personal note, I don't think personal steroid use should be illegal , despite NOT useing 'roids myself.
In the past, I would post about the reality of future drug busts in our world of hardcore bodybuilding.
Many scoffed and felt I was just a blowhard on a soapbox. Now, the 'roid busts are growing in number and many in our sport are dealing with that crap.I sincerely feel some empathy for them but have to wonder why they continue to take such risks???
Honestly, I do think the top guys look more impressive on the juice. BUT, it does the sport very little  good to have them in jail or standing before a judge on trial
I feel that something tangible must be done within bodybuilding,to stem this tide of  disaster BEFORE it gets even worse.However,  I fear that  "plausible denial" within the IFBB/NPC and possible psychological  addiction issues, may prevent any real action on the drug problem.
I will be at the ASC and hope to see some of my fellow musclehedz there.

PS - they are only busting bodybuilders since they are linked to real professional sports in terms of steroid distribution.  The basis for cracking down on steroids in pro sports is to divert attention away from wiretapping, illegal wars, a sub-prime mortgage crisis, national economic recession, and other real issues.  And it is enslavement to give up the sanctity of your body to the state in fear of going to jail.  Nobody will ever tell me what I can or cannot put in my body.  Go on the juice Howie, just obviously don't boast about it on the boards.  Woten summarized this perfectly:

I did use some Winnie V and decca for 3 years from 83-86 and now use Androgel I get via prescription to keep my test levels in the ideal, no more, no less. I don't use anything other than that and am too old to have any  Olympian or pro card delusions or risk my health and freedom LOL
yes, that is my actual pic and I am 49. I simply wanted anybody that didn't already know me, to be able to say hey, at the ASC in afew weeks.

Sadly, the main issue is my thread is lost once again to UNrelated , trivial crap.

You used deca for 3 straight years?!  Do you think that is connected to your need for HRT?

Doubtful as I used 200 mg a week ( 1 shot for 6 week cycles with 4 weeks off).
My older age is the main reason LOL.

On the drug bust issue, here is my main pt.
Most of us fans , hardcore tyopes and judges could care less about who uses what drug .
The problem is that this "personal" use cold end up costing some their freedom when they get busted.
It ikes me no end , when I hear guys whine when they get busted now.
You took a risk and now have to pay, what don't they understand?
If you don''t want to get busted , don't mess with the illegal crap or lobby congress to change the law.
MOST of us think that steroid use should be legal, but that won't change the law or be a good defense if you get busted....end of story.

Not trying to derail bro, but do you mean that you were on for 6 wks, off for 4 wks, for a period of 3 years?  I'm no expert but I've heard that deca takes a long time to clear the system, and it would certainly be supressing for 4 wks after the last shot.

I assume you weren't running deca alone, so what 4-5mg of T/wk?  Were you using any HCG to prevent atrophy?  Did you notice major nut atrophy?

I honestly took only one drug at a time and then in very low dose amounts.
I never had any health issues or side effects form what I did.
I would take 6 weeks of 200 mg of decca week and then nada of anything for at least a month.
Then I might try some test ethanate and do the same thing.
The ONLY thing I ever took before a show was 100mg a week of winnie V the last 6 weeks and only from 83-86.
Obviously I am no pure natural type on my high moral horse when it comes to BB drugs. I do shake my head in wonder when I see the crazy amount of health and legal risks some take just to get a little bigger or harder...for what???
Save the money and hassle and buy a house and/or get a decent career and edcuation , etc

They don't have to legalize it, but being able to go to the doc and be honest, or schedule appointments without your insurance company flagging you, or be honest with your doc w/o him dobbing you in to the ins company, etc, would at least give those who choose to use access to regular tests and treatment if required.

why androgel?, why dont you request the actual liquid and inject it..insurance still pays for it and it is more effective than the gel...(so I hear)

In theory this should be the ideal answer , but isn't . The problem is in the crazy , huge amounts that many hardcore guys and some pros use. NO legit doc would prescribe THAT much juice for any reason.
Thus, it remains underground, and guys are getting busted left and right now.
Obviously for more dumb reasons that I can count, these  same guys know the risks , but REFUSE to stop being involved with extreme drug use. It seems they morph into a value system that has drug use at the core of it.

The Androgel avoids the up/down cyclic nature of the shots. While the rubbed on Gel is not nearly as effective in building pure muscle size, it does keep my testosterone levels in the ideal range, which is my overall goal related to health and vigor.

It has been obvious for some time that few here want to engage in any real , serious and thoughtful dialogue related to bodybuilding.That is why I now come here , catch up with the sports gossip and stuff , maybe post or read a couple threads and then leave, etc.

Believe it or not I am more into overall cardio fitness these days and am trying to drop a few pounds and stay healthy. Bodybuilding remains a fun hobby for me still, no more, no less, see ya at the ASC.
