Shortly after...it was reported that Kal tussled with J Weider in his office over getting his photos out of his file...surreal...

sorry man but gonna call bullshit on this one, no offense.

This guy was only 5'7, 5'8, 250# and could hit 405 inclines for 6-8 with good form (and yes, I was an eyewitness);

Funny thing is he could barely hit 405 on squats though despite large wheels........

He won the Mr. California I think but he never won the Nationals. He was a successful gym owner in San Diego.

Yes, the Cal in 88 was his only major win, came in 2nd to Shawn Ray in 87-if rick had a back he would have beat Shawn.

He was a successful gym owner in San Diego.

Well, if you call Ed Connors "gifting" you a Gold's Gym, the very first Gold's Gym that was a licensee other than Ed Connors, one where Rick did not have a single dime to put in for an investment, then I guess you might call that successful.

I would call it one in a million luck myself.

BTW, Ed also gave Jim Quinn a percentage of Gold's San Diego, and Rick forced Jim out. Jim was PISSED! Said he was going to "drag Ricks head along a freeway divider".... honest to god.

One more of Rick, and to be honest I think Rick had a pro physique, could easily have competed in the pro's;

Chimp-Master: you referring to me?

That was worn in the 80's actually, and the 'Time To Make The Donuts' was quite the thing.

I knew it was time to shave when comedians in bars I bounced in started making fun of me/it....

About 185-190...and I was a very good diplomat with drunkards.

They would not even know I dissed them while throwing them out till they were home.

I NEVER hit one person in seven years.

I saw a 160 pound guy kick the Hell out of a 300 pounder. He told the big guy to take his coat off...when he did, that's when the little guy pummeled the s--- out of him.

The Illinois collegiate HW wrestling champion challenged the lean, 185 pound me to fight.

I told him, "I will fight you. But there will be no honor in how I fight you. I will claw at your flesh, Grab your balls...hit you with a bottle, pull the hair out of your head...kind like a crazy girl.

"Well, the whole bar got quiet. The huge guy looked at me.

"You know, " he said. "I cause trouble all over town, and I have never it heard it put towards me that way..."

And they left.

Yes...he would of killed me. But diplomacy won.

And I was very scared.

Bouncing was a good job, fun, and I was not studying Fri or Sat nights, so it was a good opp to make $ and be out at the same time.

I never fought, never have fought, don't know how to fight, and never will fight.

I didn't get into bb to intimidate anybody, and I was raised well and did not have anger or aggression issues.

And I get along with everyone, including you, squad.

Well...good question. I was taking 30 credits per trimester in college at the time...and needed money, as most students do.

Had no time to work regular hours...so I took the boiuncing job (or, doorperson) because it was on weekend nites when I would either be sleeping or not in class anyhow.

It was good, under the table money, and I met a lot of gals and hung with friends....damn

come to think of it

THAT is when I had it made! ;D

Squad...to be fair...they kept small me at the front door for ID check and greeting, as I was more presentable.

The gorilla huge bouncers were in the back....unleashed them when really necessary!

I was 21 there...and about low 170's...never said I was 185 in that shot. If you read through...there are pics up of me at 190.

More will come later from 1986-1987...my biggest onstage weights of 185-190.

Squad, why do you never believe anything?

There is no conspiracy with me. I generally don't lie.
