LOL... these threads are kind of funny when you think about it.  The right has been so desperate for dirt on Obama, they've gone where no political dirt diggers have gone before, holding you accountable for your pastor and shit.  unprecedented indeed!  desperate!  So I get a laugh when I read a thread that finds some little thing and lays it down with rampage and drama.  Funny shit guys. :)  at least this is true unlike some of the bullshit you people post.  Must be really exciting for you to actually find something  :D

LOL i think the dirt on obama is abundant from his retarted socialist/utopian views, to his views on the oil/gas problem. The reason that ppl make a big deal about his pastor/church is B/C RELIGION PLAYS A BIG ROLE IN PPLS LIVES and if you go to a church that preaches racists bigotry and perpetuates the black victim role than you more than likely hold the same views, if he didnt then he wouldnt have sat there for 20 yrs. This guy is a pimp telling you what you wanna hear brother.

cut the crap, we've all heard the reasoning and it's really hard to buy...  With the differences between churchs, pastor attacking could have easily been introduced at any other time.  You fellas are on new ground because you were desperate for dirt--period.

This is great. Hugo and Co. trying to brush off Obama's blatant lies. I love it. They chastise Bush for it and then they rally behind Obama doing it. Good stuff!  ::)

maybe you read it wrong.  What I was pointing out is how funny it is to see the jubilant celebration over something that really isn't that big of a lie.  yes, it's a lie and should be addressed.  Sorry but W has upped the bar a bit in the serious lies department.  And with the long list of McBush flipflops.  This really isn't worth that much.

I am voting for Obama, but that's only because I care about the economy and want to see it rebound. I think he's a terrible candidate but when you look at the other options, he's not that bad. I like McCain's approach to terrorism but I think he'll just shit all over our economy. I think Obama wanting to open up direct talks with Iran is beyond retarded. Both candidates have their ups and downs but I'm concerned about the economy first. I only need Obama to fix it enough that all the financial sectors stop laying off thousands of people.  :-X

That being said, it's pretty disheartening to see this guy lying like that. Makes him no better than all the other candidates. It only bothers me because a lot of people have him up on this pedestal like he's the second coming of Christ, when he's nothing more than a smooth talker really. I like debating both sides, though.

Just anti-Islam. I'm actually pretty liberal.

I don't like "Americans" who badmouth our country after they cut and run because they couldn't hack it.

decent argument.  I don't like to see him lie either but with that said, I'm not sure there exists a politician that doesn't.  I do think talking isn't that big a deal.  The concept of not talking to the enemy whatsoever unless they break 100% your way is really new and I think pre designed to get nowhere.  And when you have someone like North Korea that will back stab every deal in order to get more from another deal.  We should just nuke the fuck out of them and 2 minutes before we do announce on the news, "Oh my god there's a huge meteor and we don't have time to stop it...  This just coming it, North Korea is gone :D... We return you to Hannity and Colmes...  Hannity:  wow that was... oh fuck it, they all looked retarded anyway.  Colmes: they were a pretty silly looking people.  Hannity: whoa, look who's talking!"

I think talking works with North Korea because their country is in the shitter. They have no economy, their people are starving and they really don't have a hand in most of the world's affairs. Iran on the other hand has oil to fall back on. They have a decent enough military to be an annoyance and they're arrogant as all hell. They have no intentions of stopping and are going out of their way to hide their nuclear aims. I seriously doubt they'll listen to "talking" and it stands the possibility to derail everything that's been done so far.

And there probably isn't a politician that doesn't lie. But the people idolizing Obama and trying to brush it off are pretty annoying. The guy is no better than anyone else. Country is in dire need of some new blood in both parties.

I see your points.  But what are the options with Iran short of preemptive invasion?  Can we agree they will be a nuclear power at some point and there is nothing that can stop that except an invasion?

They may or may not be. Their economy's been in the shitter for a while now. It continues to get worse. Last I read, their inflation was crawling to near record highs. With severe economic restrictions and massive political dissent, they would probably abandon their nuclear aims. Regardless of what Ahmadinejad says, most of the Iranian public does not like the fact they're interjecting themselves into the world's affairs considering the number of problems at home. His party had a terrible showing in local elections, with a large number of guys losing their seats.

However, I think Israel is going to eventually bomb their nuclear sites. Which I don't mind because they don't have the balls to go to war with Israel. It will just get swept under the rug like Syria. Hezbollah might try to pull some shit for a while but in the end nothing will happen. I'm pretty tired of their proxy war bullshit. Watching them getting away with killing American soldiers really chaps my ass.

Not very reassuring.  Definitely some deception in that ad if those are the facts.
I just see Obama as a lot of slogans and ideals with the socialistic utopian dreams.
I am extremely fearful of what he's going to do to small business.  Big government with more taxes and regulation is a killer for small businesses (which employ the majority of American people).
Which part of his platform is a socialistic utopian dream?

I hope you are right.  The reason i doubt it, is because of religious stubbornness and idealism.

I agree with you.  I dont like that they contributing to the instability of Iraq and thus our soldiers are dying.  The problem is we can't really do anything about it.  We could not invade Iran with what we have currently and hope to be successful in the after math.

Additionally I don;t see what Israel attacking will do other than cause more problems.  I don't think they can or will be able to stop nuclear production with bombing.   And then look at the vengeance and rage that will increase exponentially all over the middle east.

Invading Iran would be one of the dumbest things we could do. Do you know why?

For centuries Sunni and Shia Islam have been at odds with each other, followers of each killing each other and fighting over this and that but when the 'infidel' invades Iran there will be good reason to believe that after nearly a millenium of infighting, the two warring factions ought to unite to fight the infidel.

Invading Iran is a terrible idea.

Absolutely.  The republicans, including McCain, have championed sending 4000+ soldiers to die in an unnecessary and illegal war, they armed them poorly, they tried to cut their battle pay and they provided Dickensian health care services to the wounded soldiers.

.....but Obama said this in an ad:

"That’s why I passed laws moving people from welfare to work, cut taxes for working families and extended health care for wounded troops who’d been neglected."

Jesus Christ.  No Senator passes laws by himself.  That's the fact jack.  Did he support that proposed legislation?  Yes.  He tried to add amendments for some changes but they were rejected.  Did he vote for it?  No.  He was absent.  Did he support it? Yes.

Is this anything like Bush claiming to support a child insurance program in Texas that was passed by overriding his veto of the proposed program?

No, the president's lie was a true lie--an intentional statement contradicting the facts at hand.

Is Obama lying?  Not really.  He just has to make sure that he speaks like a 3 year to keep his message in this format:  Keep it simple stupid or keep it stupidly simple.

Since the republicans cannot make a substantive argument worth shit, they go after stuff like this--minutiae of inconsequential things.

They did it to Gore, Kerry and Obama steps to the plate.

IMO talking will never work with those assholes.  Just watch, they'll take and renig on their side.  I'll bet on it everytime with those assholes.  They're different.  gene gone wrong somewhere, excessive goat fucking or something.
