They're either breaking the biggest story of the year, with major impact on the election and the future of our nation...

Or they're destroying this family's lives in the most horrible possible way.

You decide:

if this story is true then at least a few other people know it and hopefully it will eventually come out.

personally, I doubt it's true

This pic is from the state website:  http://gov.state.ak.us/bio.php

if this pic is from 2007 then the pic purporting to show a baby bump couldn't have been taken in 2008.    The middle and youngest daughter look older in 2007 than they did in 2008 (and the middle daughter somehow shrunk a few inches too)

once again the "social conservative" crowd is so busy telling other people how to conduct their lives yet they can't even FOCUS on their own FAMILY.

This is how Mr Rove would obfuscate the issue.

Release an unprovable story which adds confusion to the issue.

Anyone who questions it, well, they hate 16-year old girls.

However IF - and I mean IF - she's lying about the infant, the story will be uncovered.  She's deleting pics, myspace pages, and hospital records right now, but google cache's last forever.

Is Palin a God-Bot?

I only ask because even though I'm personally socially conservative I'm politically socially liberal.

If she is a God-Bot then it's only interesting because the left will make an issue of her family Christian values (even though they are hers and not necessarily those of her daughter's).

If she's not a God-Bot (and by that I mean bible thumping in your face Christian), then it's a non-issue and none of our business.

She's a far-right conservative.

Said in 2006 that if her daughter was RAPED, she would make her keep the baby.

So? She believes that the baby is innocent.

I, personally, would outlaw abortion. I think it's murder. It doesn't make me a far-right conservative to have that opinion.

Are Catholics that vote Democrat far-right conservatives? They oppose both the death penalty and abortion.

Good question - we all throw around terms like "social conservative" but I suspect it has many different meanings for different people.

Funny thing about politics when you get down into the weeds - it's never black and white.

They made their case?

After targeting a family, a mother, and a daughter.

Ticking time bomb, that the McCain campgin will expose as a feminst issue, one that was unfair, unjust, and uncalled for.

This just got good.

so we know Bristol was sexually active and is now pregnant.

IMO - that only lends credence to the idea that she could have been pregnant before and this will only invite more scrutiny upon the story about Palins 5th child.

Let's hope not....for the Dems sake.

Their campaign is not running on change but on a viscious cycle of hate, and anger right now.

dude - I see neither hatred or anger regarding Palin

I only see people (on both sides) who at first didn't get it and now understand that she's their as a token gesture to draw in the single issue christian zombie brigade.

Calling into question Palins lack of qualification to take on the role of POTUS is not anger or hatred.  It's a legitimate question being posed by people in both parties

Not you Straw. But what we are seeing right now, is the Obama campaign and cheerleaders try their hardest to attack Palin, a her family.

That is fine attack her experienance but they just did a complete 180 with the family and went after her daughter, and herself.

It's not going to play out well.

I haven't seen anything from the campaign regarding Palin other than a story that Obama contacted her and congratulated her.

I'd need to know what you're referring to and what you're characterizing as an attack (and is it a legitimate and fair attack on her policies or qualifications or some  personal attack on her family?).

To rebut rumors, Palin says daughter, 17, pregnant By Steve Holland
1 hour, 47 minutes ago

ST. PAUL (Reuters) - The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Bristol Palin, one of Alaska Gov. Palin's five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said.

"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us," the Palins' statement said.

"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support," the Palins said.

The Palins asked the news media to respect the young couple's privacy.

"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media, respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates," the statement concluded.

MCCAIN KNEW

Senior McCain campaign officials said McCain knew of the daughter's pregnancy when he selected Palin last week as his vice presidential running mate, deciding that it did not disqualify the 44-year-old governor in any way.

In the short period since she was announced last Friday, Palin has helped to energize the Republican Party's conservative base, giving the McCain camp fresh energy going into the campaign for the November 4 election against Democrat Barack Obama.

McCain officials said the news of the daughter's pregnancy was being released to rebut what one aide called "mud-slinging and lies" circulating on liberal blog sites.

According to these rumors, Sarah Palin had faked a pregnancy and pretended to have given birth in May to her fifth child, a son named Trig who has Down syndrome. The rumor was that Trig was actually Bristol Palin's child and that Sarah Palin was the grandmother.

A senior McCain campaign official said the McCain camp was appalled that these rumors had not only been spread around liberal blog sites and partisan Democrats, but also were the subject of heightened interest from mainstream news media.

"The despicable rumors that have been spread by liberal blogs, some even with Barack Obama's name in them, is a real anchor around the Democratic ticket, pulling them down in the mud in a way that certainly juxtaposes themselves against their 'campaign of change,"' a senior aide said.

Does NOT have to be from the campaign directly. This shows my point, Democrats are starting to come off their seats and get angry and frustrated. Attacking someone's child?

When the Obama camp got mad at people for attacking Michelle who actually is a part of Obama's philosophy of American ideals and ideas.

Hypocrisy.
