Rim, didn't you recently mention your wife being laid off?  I would understand her apprehension with that type of spending if that's the case.

Well we all have our reasons!

I grew up with guns and started shooting at a very young age, so it has just been a normal part of my life.

8)

I am the same (grew up with and started shooting at a very young age (handguns & Rifles/shotguns)) My Fiancee is from the UK where handguns are illegal to own unless you have some special priv like body guard or Private Dick. Anyway y S.O. hates my gun collection I have been trying since I met her to come out to the range with me but I guess that will never happen. I have the same problem if I spend money on anything Guns and Ammo (not the mag.

Anyway, to the author of this post buy it she will need to accept what you have a passion for. Of course as long as you are not taking away from your other responsibilities.

I have Guns and Bikes I love and I had those before I commited and she knew about them already so no need for her to complain especially when I am paying for everything else too!

I carry it for certian reasons, like if i know i'll be in a bad part of town late at night, or when i'm hog hunting as a backup. it's way too much gun, but i like big guns and like having the stopping power from one shot. i don't want to blast off 5 rounds with a 9mm, i'd rather pop one to the chest and be done with it.

the glocks are .40 and that is what i usually carry, but every now and then i carry to .45 so i can feel like Dirty Harry!...lol..the .45 fits nice under a suit, so most people have no idea i carry every day.

It saved me and my girl from getting robbed about a year ago at the Galleria. we had just left at closing time and we were parked in the back corner of one of the underground parking lots. as we were walking through the garage, 3 guys dressed in black came around the corner very quickly and one had a lead pipe in his hand. i pulled the peacemaker and cocked one on the chamber...i've never seen anyone run so fast. ;D

Had i not had my weapon, it "could" have been a disaster, as i was still recovering from knee surgery and had no way to defend myself or defend my girl. this thought went through my head for weeks, so i have carried every day since then.

My father hates handguns, but he understands why i carry one. i was shooting rifles and shotguns at an early age, around 12 i think...

My girl hates them, but we have come to an agreement on them since we almost got robbed. most of the guns i have are rifles, but i have a decent hand gun collection as well. i'll try to snap a few pics of my gun closet of i get a chance, i have a small arsenal and i am very accurate with all weapons.

Growing up on a farm, we had guns all over the property, for snakes or other varmints.

She was out of work for about six months but in April got a decent job - making more then she was before.

What was wrong with your hands?  :-[

Right hand severe carpel tunnel & the left hand a whole shitload of nerve issues. On the road to full recovery though. Been training pretty steadily since the Last week of August. Almost hitting "normal/respectable" numbers again. I'd estimate I'll be 100% by the Jan 1.

Wow that sux.  Both hands incapacitated at the same time. :(  I'm glad to hear you are on the road to full recovery though and are able to train again.  :)

Nah, not at the same time. Basically back to back - roughly six weeks apart.

Or maybe you can just go away?

Guns are not the problem.  Stupid mutherfuckers with guns are.  Responsible people with guns should have the right to double tap someone's forehead if their life is threatened.

Guns are the problem, hence all the crap that happens when people get ahold of this dangerous weapon more problems happen.  What next we give citizens hand grenades!  I can only imagine how crazy that would get  :-X  We really need to disarm america, no knives, guns, etc be a lot better place.  Never sell bullets to ANYONE except military.  Eventually the guns and bullets would dry up for criminals as well and it would be a lot better place to walk around at night for women.
