MSNBC's Rachel Maddow suffers big audience loss
MSNBC show host Rachel Maddow has suffered some steep audience erosion in recent months, down more than 40 percent in viewership from her peak last fall during the election.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Maddow's audience has gone from a high of 1.9 million viewers in the fall to just over 1.1 million in March. That's a big drop.

Readers of this blog know I am just as troubled by Maddow's brand of ideologically driven partisan propaganda as I am by that of Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity on Fox. Maddow was at her worst last week, falsely minimizing the tea parties held across the country as "the fizzle in the drizzle" and mocking the participants.

You could hardly have a better example as to how an ideologue distorts an event or facts to fit her or his worldview -- the opposite of journalism.

Maddow was not much better than Hannity, whom I criticized here, for his rabble-rousing on behalf of the tea-bag protesters in Atlanta, whom he was supposed to be covering.

"I think Rachel is a rock star," Phil Griffin, the president of MSNBC, told the Times.

That's one of the problems with MSNBC: It's looking for "rock stars" instead of journalists or analysts to host its shows. If a rock star's CD sales dropped by 44 percent, believe me, the record company would be worried.



Soon her ratings will look just like gutless Keiths.

This backs up what I've said all along.  People are compelled to watch train wrecks and disasters.  Olbermann points out the daily train wrecks at Fox News and and consequently Bill O and others there benefit from their viewers AND Olbermann viewers.  With Bill O, he's constantly getting highlighted for the moron he is not just on Olbermann but many other shows too, like Colbert.  All these viewers end up landing on his show to watch the disaster live.  This has to be true, where are all the approving Bill O'Rielly fans online?  Search him and it's a never ending laugh fest and criticism.  Not many Bill O is awesome pages out there.  so of course his ratings are higher, people love a good train wreck as these above ratings show.

Here is  a clue.RATINGS ARE WHAT COUNTS in television.YOU might think all those shows suck and are idiotic,but America disagrees.The same way I think Obama is a fucking jerkoff,America disagrees.So,you might love Olberman,Maddow and the rest of those no talents,but America doesnt agree,and guess what?Thats why MSNBC is a joke,they loose money and get ZERO ratings!!!You might hate Beck and think hes an idiot,but America disagrees, and despite your ego that makes you think you are the judge of whats real news or intelligent comentary,his ratings prove it everyday as he obliterated Olberman and Maddow.
