heck, there probably have been studies done.  TA or body88 could probably show you the average age of primetime sitcoms versus cable news, and I'm sure there are polls showing older people vote R vs D.

I researched the age ranges for the other networks and day time programming as well.  What would you specifically like to see?  MSNBC has a younger demographic which bodes very well for the future.
