What most of you people are forgeting is that there is more to success on a BBing stage then just your physique. Your charisma, and stage presence count for a lot. Arnold today would be just as successfull as he was in the bygone eras, simply because of his charisma. Think about it...did he always win because he was the BEST on stage, or did he always win, because if you were a judge you just wanted to get behind someone like him.
Also...subjective criteria can be your friend as well as your enemy...since there are no truly "correct" definitions of what the ideal is when judging...this makes it so that if you are able to "sell your act" and can project yourself as the winner...then people will mold and rationalize the criteria to fit your physique.
This of course only goes so far...Vince Goodrum couldn't win a show regardless of how much confidence he could exude...but I think you get my point.
