I respect MindSpin for his stance.  Like I said, a few of my friends are in the same boat, and I don't begrudge them for looking out for their own self interest.

At least he's not delusional about what's going on.

As to why Fox cut away from the Republican Q&A?  Because the president was undermining the narrative the channel was trying to put forward.  Obama was up there, answering questions and undermining everything the GOP and FOX portray him to be: uncooperative, unwilling to listen to the Republican viewpoints, spending money with no reasoning, etc.

Fox and the Republicans cry that "tort reform" will solve health care.  Obama addressed this by sayin he spoke to top economists and said that they suggested tort reform would save a couple of percent.  He then went on to say he would like to speak to the GOP suggestions on how to, specifically, deal with tort reform, and no one has taken them up on his offer.  The crowd was silent.

It's easy to complain and bitch and moan and point out what's wrong.  Hell, Dems did it when Bush was in charge.  It's much harder to actually FIX problems.

I will tell you, it's a very tough decision for me.  I am vehemently opposed to most of the ideals that the conservative party stands for and I really like the  character that Obama brings to the office.  But, the tax thing is out of control.  After I factor in state/federal income taxes, property taxes (which somehow are up even though my property values are down), sales tax, etc., I am getting to keep 40% of my income.  And, Obama wants to raise my taxes even more.  That's not working for me.

how much do you make every year?

taxes are necessary to cover spending costs. the biggest spending cost is for the military, where we spend about 700 billion every year.

Obama didnt cause the huge debt we are in, but he isnt fixing it either. I am very dissapointed with his presidency so far, but we have to do what we have to do.

i do not think taxes should be increased on ther average citizen... the bulk of the governments money comes from individual income taxes...    income taxes on corporations are less than 20% of what they get from individuals (total receipts from individ. income taxes last year was about 1 trillion dollars, while total receipts fdrom corporate income taxes was about 200 billion..)... but yet corporations hold 90% of the wealth in this country....  something doesnt add up does it?

I made $680,000 last year.  Sounds great huh?  Well, I  got to keep $272,000 of it.  That's BS.  Obviously we need taxes, but this is ridiculous.  Corp vs. individual doesn't affect me as I own an S-corp.

my mother does as well, shes in real estate. she gets raped on taxes too.  obviously there is much inequality in the tax system.  but you cant blame obama, you have to blame bush, greenspan, reagan, etc. these are the guys who wiped out the taxes from the big corporations with their idea of "trickle down" economics..  which is complete hoseshit btw... lol.. anyways i dont think you shoudl vote republican. you should vote third party. because neither the democrats or the republicans are going to make any significant changes. right now both parties need to be slapped in the face. there isnt a single politican in office, all we have is loudmouthed, hard headed, ignoramouses...and then a bunch of panty waisted pussy ass bitches who wouldnt stand up to an unarmed midget burglar in a wheelchair...

go to stanford and talk to the most intelligent physics professors on the planet and they will tell you that you can walk through walls, scientifically this is possible.

economics professors like to say that tax breaks on big business drive the economy.

in real life trickle down economics has never been successful, the best economies on the planet are well regulated and have lots of tax on their big companies.

you ever walk through a wall before? go tell that to a stanford professor of physics.

I'm actually voting republican on the next election simply because I'm not up for paying 41% in income tax.  That said, Obama did seriously pown repubs in that Q&A session...

why did you vote democrat in the first place then?  did you not think the tax hike is coming, studly?

oh and once and for all, here's what started the subprime crisis, not "asshole Bush".

note the date of the article and the publisher.

I quote Fox because they're not in bed nor do they cover for Obama, Reid or Palosi. Remember when Obama was campaigning (he still is) before he was elected the conservative opinions on there were warning and exposing Obama for his socialist ties and if he was elected what it was going to do to this country and media that was (is) in bed with Obama wouldn't report it? Now look and see whats happening and tell me IT IS NOT happening!! Everything that is happening NOW to this country was reported on FOX before he was elected.

And, on a lesser note, let's not forget that, a couple of weeks ago, both CNN and MSNBC spend more time covering the LOSER of the Mass. Senate race than it did the WINNER.
