I am and I am asking you what is phoney about it?  i'm asking because she is not really saying anything different than she said before on taxes spending energy etc.

When she sat down and took questions. I cant recall any policy questions she was asked about. Im pretty sure there were NONE. Who was expecting her to ad lib on questions of policy? She had those prepared when she gave her speech.

The questions she was asked were mostly on the tea party and dem/indy role in the future of the tea party and her role in the future.

Bro - this was a tea party convention, not a presidential debate or oreilly sit down.

She is right on the issues thats what matters to me.  If she can be a voice for lower taxes, domestic energy exploration, and less spending, I support her.

Why are you people getting behind a person that supposedly loved America and was gung ho to make positive change but then quits her job?  She is nothing now.  Just a normal citizen that has a small following of extremists who allow her to have a platform to sell her book. There is not one person working with her outlining strategic plans to improve the government, improve the economy or anything else.  She is a blow hard who is on a platform to sell books. End of story.   You guys are making fools out of yourself by backing her.  Find someone who is currently in politics and can do more than point out others mistakes.  I am not happy with Obama either but at least he is trying to do something different since the past has not worked out to well.  Yeah,  I know I am a liberal nut job.  ::)

Obama SAID the right thing on many issues also. How far did that get us?

Obama never said the right things and many of us warned everyone about him from day one.  If you look at what he said, it was always a bunch of contradictory socialist garbage wrapped in nice language and kneepadded by the media.

His record of his whole life was a complete sham and a fraud and we warned everyone and it fell on deaf ears.

If you are dissapointed by him, thats your fault for not paying closer attention to who he actually is and his actual record.

As for Palin, like I said, if she is a voice for lower taxes, domestic energy exploration, and less spending I applaud her.

The second she changes on that I will be her most vocal critic.

She's still an idiot. They're all smarter with some coaching. Even Kerry sounded lucid and passionate after the election was over and there was nothing to lose. :)

face it 33, youre woo'ed by her looks just like liberals were woo'ed by obamas skin color. Like obama, she is feeding you exactly what you want to hear. And you eat every bit of it.

Yeah, less taxes, less spending, less government, domestic drilling.  Thats what I want to hear.

As for obama, hillary warned everyone as well.  Just look his record, not the hope and chang bs.  Its bill ayeres, rev. wright, member of the socialist party, no accomplishments or private sector experience whatsoever, most liberal voting record of all 100 senators, for single payer health care before he was against it, hates the constitution, said we are fatally flawed from our founding, etc.

1.  I was not a member back then.

2.  Obama did not decide to run for president until mid 2006.

3.  I was not posting on politics in mid 2006.

4.  The evidence against obama was downplayed so that the media could have its storybook election of the first minotiry getting elected.  A white person with Barry's background would never have made it through a primary.

A lot of people claimed they wouldn’t vote for McCain because of Palin’s lack of experience.

She had more relevant experience than O, and she was only running as VP.
“She might take over one day in the next four years, so we can’t vote for McCain.”

But, they had no problem putting the guy with less experience first.

I remember 33's Obama warnings starting around "day one" of the '08 primaries.

Maybe that's what he means.

(1. 2. 3.) fair enough. Id argue "day one" began in 04' at the dem convention when he gave his speech.

4. I agree if he was white he wouldnt have went anywhere. Now, how far would palin have gone, sans the good looks?

Correct.  I posted the videos of Obama in his own words, etc.  The mob mentality took over and the hope and changers ignored all the evidence, and now we have to suffer.

Shit - EVEN OBAMA SAID HE WAS NOT QUALIFIED WHEN HE DECIDED TO RUN!!!!!

I really thought that Hillary may have stood a shot at winning the nomination when she started running that angle.

If I had to choose between the two, I would have preferred Hill-dog.

Palin would go nowhere without her good looks, I agree.  If she looked like Christina Romer she would be DOA.

Do you think Obama would have won if he looked and sounded like Alan Keyes?

Sadly looks mean a lot.  You think a short fat bald guy is every going to win?  How about a woman who looks like Chtistina Romer?

I guess we will see if meg Whitman goes anywhere in CA to break that cycle where looks are important.

CNN remarked that Palin has declared herself the head of the tea party movement.  WOW!

Criticizing Mr. teleprompter while reading a speech from paper.  LMAO...

She mentioned in the question period that Todd wasn't a registered Republican. Well no shit, he was registered to an Alaskan seperatists party actually.

Commentators from both Parties seemed unanimous: she said nothing specific, but her audience loved her.

(these are from DU comments... haven't watched it yet)

I haven't watched the speech yet... about to.  She said nothing too specific on policy, trashed the dems, and the audience loved her... sounds about right... anything to help get the repub party all on the same page with a "non-spending" message, I'm good with, despite my reservations on her competence.

Well, you had to expect there would be some sort of controversy coming out of this speech, right?

"Hand-Writing-Gate"
http://thinkprogress.org/2010/02/06/palin-hand /

Did Palin write the answers to Tea Party Convention questions on her hand?
Tonight, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin spoke to the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville, TN, an event that was ditched by other high-profile Republicans who disliked its for-profit model. After her speech, organizer Judson Phillips asked Palin several questions. One of them was about what needs to be done when there is a “conservative House and a conservative Senate.” Palin jumped right in and said, “We’ve got to rein in the spending, obviously.” However, she then seemed to forget her next talking point and glanced down at her left hand, as if there were notes she had scribbled down. She went on to talk about “energy projects.” Watch it: (video at link)

Crib Notes? This potential presidential candidate and "movement" leader was using crib notes to answer basic questions? This would mean:
A) That she knew the questions beforehand and the whole thing was a farce. (Likely.)
B) That she still couldn't answer the previously agreed-upon questions without a little extra help.If true, this is supremely rich coming immediately after a speech in which Palin took a shot at President Obama for using a teleprompter to read his prepared speeches. You can bet that the President wasn't reading scribbles off his extremities while he sparred with Republicans and Democrats in an unscripted format in his recent Q&As.Palin, on the other hand, seems to need a cheat-sheet just to get through a contrived lovefest with a smitten interviewer and an adoring audience.GREAT LEADER FOR THE TEA PARTY :D :D :D :D AND REPUB PRES CANDIDATE

They will spin it to make it sound like she wanted to make sure she was prepared, and being prepared is what is required of a great leader.  When our nations security is at risk we need someone who is prepared to make difficult decisions.  Palin 2012.
