what the hell are those things that runners wear around their ankles?

i went for a run this morning, and the weather was nice so everyone was wearing shorts...so i noticed those band thingies around everyones ankles...what are they for?

It's always shorts weather where you are. If anything, this weekend was a little cooler than normal.

people around here tend to stay dressed in cool weather clothes for monthes after it was cold...i dont know why...

I believe road runners nationwide stores custom fit them for each person. I've heard nothing but great things about them on running boards

i am guessing thats what they are for....every short shorts wearing douchbag at the trail was wearing those this morning....except me...maybe i should wear those girl shorts too, they might make me run faster!!!

no..these things...i know they are for tendons...but EVERYONE was wearing them...so i figured there was more to them than just a tendon problem...not that many people could have fucked up tendons at the same time, and at the same trail..

Last race I ran was a 5 miler, hilly as hell, steep, 1/2 trail 1/2 road out of 85 runners I was the only one wearing sweatpants.
