I literally had that same kind of cambered bar, straight bar and weights when I was 13.

Vince, I know you are a practical man and pretty "tight with a buck" and "iron is iron" but why not spend a few extra dollars and get something a little more current as far as equipment goes?? I've dealt with those threaded star collars and barbells and its such a pain in the ass spinning that little fucker around each time you have to switch out a 5 pound plate.

I couldn't mow enough lawns quick enough back in the day to get a beginners Olympic set.
