A better question would be why are so many religious people so fucking stupid

maybe the atheist just appear to think they are smarter because we have so many example of religious morons to compare and contrast with them.

It kind of goes with the territory doesn't it.

To blindly believe in something superstitious and made up fairy tales you have to be flawed in your critical thinking and logic i.e. stupid.

Do people go around announcing that they are atheists? I was not aware of this. I haven't had any atheists come knocking at my door trying to convince me to become one. I have had Jehovah's witnesses at the door attempting to explain the bible from their perspective and wanting to leave their church literature with me.

Yes, but a majority of deeply religious people dont think like that.

They throw a tantrum if you dont believe in their god and they think they are 100% right.

That is not being open minded.
