I don't think that the judges care about the grapefruit debacle.
Phil is just too good for Kai. Kai needs to face that fact.
Phil and Kai serve as reminders to one another. Kai has beaten Phil before, and Phil knows that if he is off, Kai can beat him as he has before. Kai, knows that he can beat Phil, but Phil also serves as example to his philosophy...he is a "philosophical" obstacle. If he beats Phil, it means something far greater than just winning the Olympia, what it truly means is validation.
