NFL star Larry Allen
« on: February 12, 2006, 12:55:39 PM »
Did you see him rep 225 lbs 43 times on the bench press pro bowl competition.  he probably could have a done a few more if he wanted.  you think pro's could do that?

true he does weigh 320 and is not ripped, but probably not too far from what some BBs look offseason
Valhalla awaits.

I still remember that play where Reggie White tossed him aside like a 120lb weakling on his way to sacking Aikman.

the team in my avatar has been owning them for 30 years now 8)

as for Larry it was very impressive and he actually followed the rules by touching the chest and extending the elbows unlike the rest

the only other one that did this was none other than Super Bowl champion Mr. Joey Porter who got a very impressive 35 reps

yeah did you see that sometime last year.  it was during a half time on their monday night game.  no bench shirt or nothing.  just half the team rooting him on.    thats one strong mofo.

Larry Allen benches 43 reps with 225 and his max is 700.

Ronnie Coleman benched 78 reps or so with 225 several years ago at some Met-Rx convention.  Who knows what his one rep max is, but is definitely has to be less than 700.

The legendary strongman, Bill Kazmaier supposedly benched 50 reps with 405 (according to out fellow getbigger Onlyme), and his max (Raw) was 661.

The math does not add up  ???

probably something to do with stamina or slow/fast twitch fiber composition.

or one man was just plain lazier.

Motivation and fibre composition will factor into this, no doubt.

Kaz's 50 reps with 405 is outlandish though.  Onlyme needs to chime in on this feat.

I would give Ronnie a cool 600 in the bench with about 6 months of specialization.    Ohhh....  and no benchshirt would be required.

But with his recent shoulder and elbow problems, this ship has sailed..  I'm officially going on record to say this is Big Country's last Mr.O..

Kevin Levrone would've owned all of these guys on the bench

in BFTO 98 after benching 405, 465, and 500 on the flat bench and then doing a few sets of 405 and 465 on the incline he pressed 315 on the incline for a solid 15 reps

"after all that still 315 for 15 reps" Ghani

"yeah baby" Kevin 8)

As great as he is, as much as lifted and as great has been-he's vulnerable to inside stunts and swim moves on passing downs and that really shows itself to be a weakness with Drew Bledsoe being less than as mobile a quarterback as many QB's in the league can be? I say that The Cowboys need to make a serious move for Brett Favre who could still have some good years Quarterbacking a contender in the vein of for instance-A Staubach?

Yeah it must be to do with slow twitch fast twitch etc as somebody said. My trainging partner can bench more than me for low reps but i can do more reps than him on a medium weight
