it's a Hit....I Dig.....the interior from previous models was as shitty as it gets....this new interior design gets an A.......let's see how this new Camaro will do in sales.....they've been beating Ponies in sales from the last couple of years

Yup.  I have an '11 Mustang because the interior is much  nicer than the Camaro.  I like the exterior of the Camaro a bit more but I sit inside the car.  Mine is the  V6 and I get up to 33 mpg on the highway.  Another reason I chose it over the V8. 

The new Camaro may convince me to trade in. Not really up as since my childhood I have always wanted either a Mustang, Camaro, Challenger or Corvette.  My only problem (other than affording a new car) is I have a great deal of difficulty getting in and out of these cars, especially the 'Vette.    First world problem, really.

Change is the story under the hood, however. A 2.0-liter turbo four from the ATS and CTS is the base engine now, producing 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. GM says it's capable of 30 MPG on the highway, but with a 0-60 time of less than 6 seconds. It's substantially less powerful than the 2.3-liter turbo four Mustang Ecoboost, but that engine isn't the Ford's base powertrain.

But traditional muscle car fans will look to the 2016 Camaro SS and its 6.2-liter LT1 V8 out of the Corvette. Here it makes a stout 455 horsepower with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic – as the other two engines will be.

So the Chevy Turbo 4 is "substantially less powerful than the Turbo four Mustang Ecoboost"...and the Chevy "6.2-liter V8 makes a stout 455 horsepower" while the Mustang 5.0-liter V8 is giving 435hp (almost the same)....?   Well played by Ford!!

Apparently AMG is using the old engine, not the twin turbo 4.0 V8.

Plus the Ford playing 32v DOHC architecture card.  Overall a superior engine even though pushrod OHV on paper still can make crazy power.

Would have to google specs.  I like DOHC for higher revs.  Also love Chevy mouse and rat motors for their punch.  Two different great flavors of V8.  If I had to choose though, I like 32v better.

When it comes time to replace the engine, the superiority of the OHV engine will become apparent. 

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if many of those Mustangs had OHV engines installed in the future when the engine needs to be rebuilt.

I've always like Camaro's and in their last model they kind of made it flow and gave a nod back to it's heyday.

But that new version just looks like a blocky, generic thing. Too many edges and fussy details. It looks off from all angles.

Less is more it seems.
