Most local municipal judges hate their job. A court full of the dregs of society. Each one is just full of bull shit stories.
I actually heard this one in court. Your honor I was speeding but so was the cop who had to speed to catch me. Judge," The cop is exempt from the speeding statue if he is working and trying to pull you over." Dreg, " Well then, how do I know his radar is working?" Cop, " I have my certificate I was trained. I have a certificate the tools too test the radar are calibrated. I tested the radar prior and after to ensure it was working properly." Dreg, " How do I know he is telling the truth?" Judge, " You are telling me the cop is in contempt of court for presenting phony documents and presenting manufactured evidence? You have already admitted you were speeding. The prosecutor I'm sure offered you a break to down grade the ticket to a lower speed or a no driving record ticket and you waste my time with your complete lack of credibility." I'm suspending/revoking your license for 30 days and you will pay the maximum fine for the violation." Dreg, "But judge....." Judge, " If you keep running your mouth you will be in contempt of court and then we will have an immediate hearing to find out the penalty."
