Can be said for all other iconic bands too - after 1991 the greats vanished.
Slayer was the only band that made one semi authentic album as late as 1994.

Megadeth has some really good ones.

Anthrax For all Kings and Worship Music are pretty good.

Exodus Temp of the Damned is pure fire.

There's always some good output here and there, I'm not denying that.
But as a whole, an era of excellence, the greats have, for a multitude of reasons, ultimately faded.
