Five individuals have been arrested and five others received federal citations for allegedly vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

The most prominent individual arrested is David Hearn, a 67-year-old former three-time U.S. Olympic canoeist. He was charged with misdemeanor destruction of government property after he touched and handled a piece of the pool's peeling blue liner while passing by on a bicycle. Hearn denies the vandalism allegations, stating he was simply a "curious citizen" who touched a detached piece of the pool's coating.

+3 Other reported detentions include a woman who was stopped and detained by a group of officers after retrieving a small shard of the pool's failing sealant from the water. U.S. Park Police have not released the full identities of all individuals involved.

Then the president of the united states goes on tv and says vandals cut a 350 gash into the pool after saying you couldnt cut it, in a 24 hour surveilled space, with no evidence and that people have been arrested. He suggest fertilizer has been put in the pool.
