Different demographics. African-Americans are only 13% of the population here. It's essentially check mate for these areas. The only way to clean them up is with aggressive policing, but the anti-police sentiment is so strong that this will never happen.  They blamed the cops. The cops backed off and things got worse. Now, what?

It actually figures to go the other way, with very little immigration from Africa, high incarceration rates, and the winding down of the welfare/entitlement era.

Moreover, if the Democratic Party wants to survive they're going to eventually have to distance themselves from this insanity. Republicans are going to have a field day in the midterm elections.

Six people were shot, two of them fatally, during the weekend’s ceasefire called for by some Baltimore residents as a response to rampant gun violence.

Another man was gunned down and killed early Monday morning, and police are investigating whether two of the recent killings are related. Another was shot Monday afternoon.

I wouldn't, but I'm describing the only approach that would work.  The beauty is that these areas are all run by democrats, and they can't adopt that strategy because of the backlash. So, they have to adopt a strategy of pretending that this isn't even happening.  As a party, they can't let the cat out of the bag that a large part of their base is completely dysfunctional. I see it every day on television. Whenever you see an African-American man, he's always wearing glasses, a button shirt and a nice V-neck sweater.  This is done to mask the reality that African-American men, as a group, are the most violent people on the face of the earth.
