I'd still like someone to please explain this to me.  I'd use NFL, but these are numbers I saw recently for the upstart league:

The AAF Football League just started.  On Profootballtalk.com they gave the Vegas odds of each team winning the championship.  It was listed like +250, +450, +750, etc. for all 8 teams.  WTH does that mean?

If I put $100 on the +250, and another $100 on the worst team which I think was +2000; what happens if either of those teams win?  And what if they lose...I'm just out the $100 then right?

stunt,

As I wrote in a previous thread, I don’t care for the modern Las Vegas.  It’s now all Gucci, Prada, and Tiffany’s.  I liked the old tacky, cheap Las Vegas (I still haven’t gotten over paying $14.25 for a bourbon and ginger ale drink when I was there two years ago).

That said here’s a blast from the past.  Singer Louis Prima and his wife Gia Maione in front of a 1965 Imperial, and the Sahara:

For a taste of old las vegas...There is a place off the strip, called Piero's Italian Cuisine. It has been there through it all, and Pia Zadora (Those over 50 will know her) still performs there are Fridays... Great food.. great old Las Vegas flare... highly recommend it. You can still get the feel mob hits are being discussed in the booth next to you, The bar hasn't changed in decades and every big star known to man during the 60's 70's has been there

A positive number means that you'll win the listed number as profit for every $100 wagered.  If you put $100 on a +250 team and they win, you'll get your $100 back AND $250.  But if they lose, you're only out $100.

A negative number means that you'll have to bet $150 to profit $100 if that team wins.

Thanks!   8)

That was much easier to understand than I thought.  Kinda worked out nice that I picked $100 in my question, since you were able to explain so easily with the same figure.
