I could have informed him that in 2003 the Supreme Court invalidated sodomy laws in the remaining 14 states where it was still illegal; (Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri (statewide), North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia). However, its legalization, which began in 1962, was mostly in place by 1987.
